Pre-K Classes

 

Preschool – La Maternelle

Kindergarten: Grande Section

 

The 5-year-old students follow a French immersion program with the addition of 45 minutes of English language arts each day, and 45 minutes of Spanish, and technology weekly.

The program focuses on:

  • Behavior towards learning

  • Handwriting and drawing

  • Physical activities and music

  • Nature and science

  • Early literacy

  • French language arts

  • Mathematics

  • Time and space concepts

First Through Third

The 6 and 7 yr. old students follow a French immersion program with:

  • 60 minutes of English language arts each day

  • 60 minutes of technology a week

  • 45 minutes of P4C a week.

The program focuses on:

French: Oral language exercises, Reading, Writing, Poetic use of the language

English Language Arts: Necessary knowledge to master speaking, reading, and writing

Mathematics: Numbers and arithmetic, Geometry, Measurements

Discovering the World: Space and diversity of landscapes; Times in our lives; The world of matter and objects; Computers and the Internet; The basic concept of life

Civics: Living together; Becoming a responsible citizen

The Arts: Musical education; Artistic activities: different techniques, material or support; Visiting museums, galleries, and Expositions

Body in Motion: Daily activities will go deeper in the continuity of cycle 1. A wide variety of physical activities will teach social, cognitive and motor skills. The wellness program will promote the importance of fitness and regular exercises, safety skills and healthy skills will develop fitness as a lifelong experience.

Fourth Through Fifth

Students follow a French immersion program with 60 minutes of English language arts each day and 120 minutes of either Spanish, Arabic or Chinese per week.

French:

  • Reading

  • Practicing oral skills

  • Writing

  • Poetic use of the language

  • Necessary knowledge to master speaking, writing, and reading

English Language Arts (60 minutes/day): Necessary knowledge to master:

World Language choice:
